Do you take walk-ins, or is Urban Fellow Barbershop & Shave Parlor appointment-only?
Urban Fellow Barbershop & Shave Parlor is appointment-first. Each chair is booked in 45-minute blocks and never doubled, which is how the shop keeps its pace. If a chair opens on the day, call the shop and we will tell you honestly whether today is possible.
How far ahead should I book?
Most weekday chairs are available three to five days out; Saturdays fill about two weeks ahead. Regulars on a Standing Chair never have to think about it — the shop holds their slot automatically on their cycle.
What does the Signature Cut include for $68?
A seated consultation, a scissor-led cut with your barber, a hot-towel finish, styling with the house products, and a walkthrough of how to reproduce it at home. Your preferences and clipper settings go on a card so the next visit starts where this one ended.
Can I request a specific barber?
Yes — and we recommend it. Every barber keeps his own book, and your service card stays with him. If your barber is away, the front desk will offer the colleague he would send you to, and your card travels across.
Is the hot-towel shave safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, with an honest caveat: we start every first shave with a patch pass and a lighter lather, and the barber will tell you plainly if your skin would be happier with a beard trim instead. The shop uses unscented pre-shave oil and a fresh blade for every client, without exception.
Do you cut children’s hair?
Yes — First Chair is a 30-minute appointment for boys under twelve, in the same chairs with the same barbers. We book them at quieter hours so nobody is rushed, least of all your son.
What happens if I’m running late?
Tell us by phone and we will protect what we can of your block. Under ten minutes we can usually deliver the full service; past that, your barber will offer the best version of the service that fits, or rebook you without a fee. If the shop is ever the one running late by more than ten minutes, the service is free.

Parking is usually available within a short walk of the shop, and public transit typically runs close by — ask the front desk for the most convenient option near Providence.
